The Journalists International Forum for Migration, (JIFORM) has commended the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for the spirited efforts being made to contain the spread of coronavirus in the State.
In a statement issued by the President of the media non-governmental foundation, Ajibola Abayomi, JIFORM lauded the State government for the laudable and elaborate logistics acquired to contain the spread, trace the contacts and treat those who were infected with the disease.
Ajibola said: “We have noted with keen interest the aggressive combing of over 1.5 million households within weeks in order to checkmate community transmission of the disease. Governor Sanwo-Olu has shown proactiveness, sincerity, care, responsive and responsible governance, particularly at this trying period.
“These were evident in the successful management of about two hundred patients that had been discharged so far from the state owned health facilities. What a great feat.”
The JIFORM President further extolled the inspirational and sterling leadership qualities so far displayed by Governor Sanwo-Olu, saying he has been distinguished as a leader with the capacity and capability to manage the affairs of the State.
Advising political leaders across the country to emulate Sanwo-Olu, Ajibola stressed that the beauty of politics is clearly defined through good governance.
The JIFORM President expressed satisfaction with the various palliatives measures put in place by the administration to support Lagosians in cushioning the effects of the lockdown, noting Sanwo-Olu was the first governor to make such move in the country.
Ajibola enjoined Lagos residents to continue to support the government in the bid to flatten the curve and overcome the pandemic.
