 The Lagos State government, in partnership with Echostone Housing, will host a virtual showcase of  its first green and eco-friendly Estate located in Idale, Badagry as well as an online enlightenment programme on mortgage financing.

The Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, disclosed this today in a phone interview with the media, stating that the virtual showcase initiative became imperative as the State Government is desirous of moving ahead with its commitment to providing decent and affordable homes for the citizenry.

According to Akinderu-Fatai the Peridot Parkland Estate project, being showcased, has been completed and is available for delivery to the public.

He said: “Peridot Parkland Estate, Idale comprising of 252 two-bedroom bungalows is a joint venture housing project which is ready for habitation. We want to move ahead to other projects, hence the need to present this scheme to the public to generate awareness of its uniqueness”.

The Commissioner further pointed out that the virtual event will also unveil convenient financial solutions which are designed to ease accessibility and promote the affordability of homes in the State.

“A major goal of the Lagos State Housing policy is affordability, as such arrangements have been made for panelists from various organisations in the Housing sector to enlighten participants on the available and convenient mortgage facilities that would enhance home ownerships by ordinary Lagosians”, he asserted.

Stressing the commitment of the present administration to increasing available home units and enhancing access to decent homes for as many people as possible in Lagos State, the Commissioner reiterated the State government’s absolute commitment to reducing housing deficit and removing barriers to home ownership in the State.

“All hands are on deck to complete all ongoing projects as soon as the lockdown is lifted”, he said.

Also speaking on the forthcoming webinar, the CEO, Echostone Housing, Mr. Sammy Adigun, said it will be a good opportunity for intending homeowners to gain expert financial tips and tools on mortgage financing.

The virtual event, scheduled for 2pm on Thursday, 23rd April, 2020, is to feature many panelists, including the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Mr. Wasiu Akewusola; the CEO, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and the CEO, Nigeria Mortgage Refinancing Company, Mr. Kehinde Ogundimu amongst others.
