The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has extended the reach of its consumer rights protection services to the Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the office of the Chairman, Bariga LCDA, Mr. Kolade Alabi, the General Manager, LASCOPA, Afolabi Solebo Esq., said the visit was to ensure that residents in the area have easy access to the Agency.
He emphasised the need to extend the Agency’s services to every part of the State, reiterating its commitment to ensuring the protection of consumers from hazardous and expired products and any form of unfair trade malpractices in Lagos State.
He said: “We intend to establish offices in all LGs and LCDAs to bring the Agency closer to the people, particularly at the grassroots”.
Solebo disclosed that the Agency has been able to assist different categories of aggrieved parties and individuals who sought redress to recover their funds on defective products or services from manufacturers/sellers.
While declaring his unwavering support for the agency, the Executive Chairman, Bariga LCDA, Mr. Kolade Alabi, pledged to ensure the propagation of the importance of consumer rights’ protection to the people of Bariga LCDA and his colleagues in other LGs and LCDAs.
