The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), has unveiled a new user-friendly website as part of its preparedness for the forthcoming Local Council elections slated for 24th of July, 2021.

In her remarks during the unveiling, Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Justice Ayotunde Phillips (Rtd), described the new website, which is faster, safer, easier to navigate, and user-friendly, as part of efforts to boost communication between the Commission and various stakeholders in the public.

She enjoined members of the public to visit the website: and other social media handles of the Commission for up-to-date, real-time and accurate information, inquiries, complaints and feedback.

She also stated that for transparency, recruitment of ad-hoc personnel will be carried out online, while media accreditation and election observer forms will also be available for download from the website.

The Chairman further reiterated that in order to guarantee the legitimacy and credibility of the electoral process, the electorate must be encouraged, educated, informed and provided with basic information about participating in elections so as to freely express their political choices.

While pledging the Commission’s commitment to free, fair, credible and inclusive Council polls, Justice Phillips said LASIEC would continue to build and sustain its integrity as an impartial body recognised for excellence in electoral administration and the sustenance of democracy, advising all participants in the election process to play by the rules and comply with the guidelines issued by the Commission.
